Post-Racialism: Reality or Illusion?

Post-racialism has gained considerable attention in the last decade. The historic election of Barack Obama November 2008 as first Black president United States initiated conversations about beginning a “post-racial” era. mimics colorblindness which was articulated by racial progressives, and later conservatives co-opted this language. Both claim that race should no longer be considered factor awarding rights resources due to progress. By examining existing literature, I stress notion living post-racial America does not respond reality.
